What we're about
Upcoming events (5+)
This is an event where formally trained practitioners of Orgasmic Meditation have two OMs. The container will be tightly held and in accordance with OM training. Please arrive a little before the scheduled time so that there is plenty of time to set up the nest. Please arrange your partner for your first OM and make sure that strokers bring a nest consisting of a head pillow, leg pillows, a zafu, a yoga mat, a clean blanket, at least two clean washcloths, at least 2 sets of vinyl gloves, OM accepted lube, and any other specialized items you may need to ensure a proper and comfortable OM container. The holder of this event will keep time. If anyone doesn't have a partner for an OM, there is a waiting area available until the group OM is finished. If you have any questions, please contact the organizer of this event.
Join us once a month as we explore the power of pleasure! One of the tenets of OM is transformation through discovering our desires. Similarly, we will be traversing the world that Mama Gena's School of Womanly Arts opens up for us and the richness is that it is entirely based on our pleasure! Mama Gena is a feminist icon and founder of the School of Womanly Arts in New York City. Women from all 50 states and more than 50 countries join her to learn how to get their way in life…THROUGH PLEASURE! This event is free and for women only. Karen Baker will be leading us through this series while we join along in reading the book by Regena Thomashauer "Mama Gena's School of Womanly Arts". Karen completed the Mastery program through the School in 2006 and is happy to share her knowledge with us as we all embark into joining the global community of "sister goddesses" who cheer each other to new heights of happiness, joy, self-expression, and play! We'll get to know each other with a few introductory rounds of light sharing. Then we'll dive into Regena Thomashauer's 1st book, Mama Gena's School of Womanly Arts. As we go, we'll sharpen our perception with "exercises" in the each chapter as we go along. Please contact the organizer with any questions, including location information or any information about the OM community, how to get trained, or the practice of OM.
In this practice, we develop strong connections with our OM partners, who are often males. This is wonderful, but it is also important to the success of our practice and in learning our relationship dynamic patterns that can give us so much amazing support, wisdom, and connection in our lives. I strongly encourage practitioners of OM to attend gender groups and experience the deep connections available for us with other women. This group is open to women who are interested in the practice, as well as, those who are already practitioners. This is a group that meets every week for women to discuss their practices and their lives in a supportive, insightful, accepting and truthful environment. We have deep conversations about things that come up for us in our practices, lives, sex, and relationships. We meet directly after our weekly group OM on Sundays at 7 pm. We lock the door for the group OM. If you arrive a little early, you are welcome to wait outside and we will open the door right after the OMs are finished. Please avoid knocking, as this can be disruptive to the energy of the group OM session that may still be in progress inside. Our location is on a rotating schedule, please contact one of the organizers if you are interested in attending and they can let you know the location for that week. We look forward to seeing you there!! ---We use a Whatsapp thread that's exclusive to formally trained OM practitioners within our community to stay connected, discuss OM related topics, and post the details of our events. The meetup is for community outreach purposes and those who are curious to learn more about the practice. ***The RSVP's on Meetup are not indicative of the number of attendees for each Meetup.*** Please do not let this deter you from RSVP'ing, however, if you plan to attend, so that we can look for you to arrive and make sure you get to the right place! Please reach out to one of the Austin OM Community organizers, if you would like to learn more about this practice or have any questions about a specific event.
