What we’re about
Austin Humanist Community provides a caring, safe, and intellectually stimulating environment for humanists. By holding regular meetings, planning social activities, and organizing outreach and volunteer opportunities, we empower our members to grow as individuals, connect with other like-minded, secular people, and enrich the lives of those in need, both inside and outside our community.
Every Sunday at 11 am, we meet to enjoy live music, hear presentations by members and outside speakers, and make new friends. Our talks are grounded in reason and celebrate the human experience; our actions stem from the notion that meaning comes from making a difference. And please join us for lunch afterwards at a nearby restaurant!
Beyond the Sunday Gathering, our community engages in other activities including local volunteerism, potlucks, game nights, and cultural outings. For more information, please visit us online at http://www.austinhumanist.org/.

Typical attendance 10-15 humanists.
Please note: Atheists, agnostics, skeptics, free-thinkers, questioning, and believers - whatever you like to call yourselves, you are welcome here.
At AHC we call ourselves secular humanists because you will never hear anything supernatural promoted from the podium. AHC was founded on the principles of scientific naturalism and secular ethics, which commits us, on the one hand, to reason and evidence-based thinking, and, on the other, to compassion for our fellow human beings.
These commitments motivate us to oppose magical and wishful thinking and all forms of dogma, as well as to stand firmly against all forms of oppression.
