What we're about

This is a social group for anyone who loves the idea of traveling to destinations to enjoy new sailing adventures. If you like the idea of sailing a 40-60 foot yacht in the Virgin Islands, Greece, Croatia, Fiji, or other dream destinations, then you will fit right in. You don't need to have sailing experience, just a love for the water and the beauty and peace of sailing, cruising and exploring in the most beautiful waters in the world. If you like the idea of enjoying life around the water, then we have interests in common. Maybe you have always wanted to do a destination sail but don't necessarily have enough friends with similar interests or skills, then this is the place for you! New to the boating life or an experienced or licensed sailor, all are welcome.

Frenchtown Marina - St Thomas VI

A Virgin Islands destination sailing adventure! Week #1 Option When We will start our trip aboard on Saturday December 7th. Finalization of the trip itinerary and number of boats will be added as we determine how many people are attending. This is a good time to get boats at a discount before the high season kicks back in. We will leave out of St Thomas, USVI and make our way over to BVI and back. A current passport is required. I have two separate weeks available for you to choose from. Choose which week best fits your schedule. This is Week #1. Time Aboard We will be aboard the boat 7 nights, starting Saturday afternoon Dec 7th through the following noon on Saturday Dec 14th. Cost The cost is $1,550 per person based on double occupancy per cabin. Each cabin in the catamaran has a queen sized bed with private head (bathroom) and shower. The catamarans also have single bunks in the forepeak. The cost above includes the boat, BVI fees, cruising taxes, VISAR fee, boat damage insurance, and split provisioning on board but does not reflect airfare, travel insurance, or food and drinks ashore. Split provisioning includes all on board breakfasts, lunches, and 3 dinners. Any hotel nights and alcoholic beverages are at your own expense. Travel Fly into St Thomas airport and then take a cab to Frenchtown Marina. Airfare from Austin (AUS) to St Thomas (STT) normally runs between $500-$700 per person. All the major airlines fly into St Thomas including American, United, Delta, Jet Blue and Spirit. Plan to arrive on Dec 7th, and depart on the afternoon of Dec 14th. The cab ride to or from the airport is a flat rate $10 per person and is a short 10 minute ride. Skippers I will be skipper of the first catamaran which is a Helia 44. Additional monohulls or catamarans will be secured based on interest expressed by the group. . IF YOU ARE A SKIPPER INTERESTED IN THIS TRIP, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT ‪(512)[masked]‬. Who Will Be Going Everyone who wants to go will be meeting more than once – sailors and skippers – so that we all know each other prior to the trip. Compatibility is important on these trips and the skippers will let you know what kind of trip they expect to have and everyone will match accordingly. Did you say Lobster !?! One of the advantages of sailing in/out of the USVI is we can catch and eat lobster. I have a couple lobster snares we can use. Lobster season is open year-round in USVI waters (not BVI) and no fishing license is required. Limit is 2 lobster per day per person, but it is not easy... A sample sailing itinerary might look like: Day/Night 1 Depart marina, Stop at Buck island to snorkel wreck of Cartanza Day/Night 2 Hunt Lobster, Mooring ball at St John/ go ashore Day/Night 3 Clear customs at Jost Van Dyke, Visit Soggy Dollar and Foxys Day/Night 4 Visit the Baths Day/Night 5 Snorkel the Indians and Caves, Overnight at 'the bight' Day/Night 6 Pickup mooring ball near St John, Hunt Lobster Day/Night 7 Snorkel, anchor Christmas Cove, Order pizza from Pizza-pi Day 8 Return to marina, Depart for airport Sign Up!
