The Barton Creek Greenbelt is a beautiful place with waterfalls, hilltop vistas, creek crossings and critters. The shaded trails range from smooth and flat to rocky and hilly. This variety is why we love to hike here, three days a week, year-round, rain or shine, hot or cold!
MONDAY and WEDNESDAY hikes are usually 5 - 6 miles long and take about 2 - 2.5 hours at a moderate pace. There is a mid-hike break and pauses for scenery appreciation.
FRIDAY hikes are 8 - 14 miles long at a faster pace lasting 3 - 5 hours for experienced hikers. Occasional hikes will include a restaurant stop which will be posted in the comment section.
It is essential to bring water and snacks on all hikes. Hiking boots are enthusiastically recommended.
IMPORTANT NOTES: hikes depart promptly at the scheduled time. Children and dogs are not permitted.
The Sierra Club appreciates donations to fund its administrative and outreach programs.
