Courage, Wisdom, Justice, and Temperance everyone!**
Let's get together and discuss how Stoic thinking can inspire practical changes in daily life.
We're talking about a philosophical tradition that has proven itself for thousands of years, helping people in all walks of life better appreciate what they have and better understand what they can control. Many people think philosophers and thinkers are too abstract or theoretical to be useful, but that's definitely not the case for the Stoics. Some people think that philosophy is basically the same thing as religion--again, not true! You can learn something from the Stoics no matter what your beliefs or opinions are otherwise.
Many also view Stoics through modern usage of the word "stoic" to describe someone who's uncaring or who seems coldly detached from the world. Well, this isn't really accurate either.
We're trying to make it simple for people to interact as well as make it easy to do so. Meetup's great for events, but not so much for conversations. With that in mind, I'd like to invite you to join our Austin Stoic group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/151649008785617/
