2020 has been an incredibly strange and brutal business year. Traditional retailers have reacted to the on-going pandemic by cutting or reducing the traditional “Black-Friday" sales that would cram their stores with bargain-crazed shoppers, ignoring social distancing. The Big-Box stores are getting in front of Black Friday expectations. The sales aren't canceled, but shopping will look different, offering increased online specials over a period of days. The goal is to encourage their customers to go for "online doorbusters” deals.

Thanks to major retailers, “Black Friday Creep” is real, expect Cyber Monday sales to kick off before the Monday after Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday seems to be morphing into "Cyber Week", but you still have time to prepare your WooCommerce Store for the 2020 “Sales Season.

Toyin Akinmusuru is a veteran of dozens of successful Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaigns and has some chilling “BFCM Lessons Learned” from campaigns that did not meet expectations. Toyin will demonstrate how a Cyber Week Checklist and a review of your site’s Special Events Related Editorial Calendar will help you prepare for a successful Cyber Week promotion.

Additionally, we will address some of the technical issues you need to plan to manage the increased traffic to your WooCommerce store and share some cautionary wisdom about the ability to scale during peak buying cycles. It is time to get your WooCommerce store ready for the seasonal rush. We look forward to seeing you on Zoom.
