http://www.wheretoeat.in/2014-austin-bacon-and-beer-festival/

NON HOSTED EVENT! This is a shared announcement.

Edible Austin's Bacon and Beer Festival Benefiting Capital Area Food Bank of Texas - (Tix $40)
The first annual Austin Bacon and Beer Festival will be on Saturday, February 22 presented by Eat Boston in partnership with Edible Austin. We'll be showcasing bacon-centric food prepared by bacon-loving chefs from all over Central Texas — and we'll be pairing it all with craft brews! Can you really ask for a Saturday afternoon better spent?

The Austin Bacon and Beer Festival is Saturday, February 22nd at The Marchesa. Edible Austin and Eat Boston are throwing the Festival as a benefit for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. Featuring bacon inspired bites by a slew of area restaurants, and tasty beer from local breweries, this will be a dreamworld for bacon and beer lovers alike. Your ticket will get you into #BaconAndBeerATX, where you'll be able to sample bacon bites from the restaurants below. Tickets for beer samples will be available for purchase at the venue at the price of 12 samples for $5. There will even be a pig butchery demonstration from Salt & Time. Niman Ranch and Lone Star Foodservice have generously donated a portion of the bacon for this event to help us raise even more for CAFBT.

Sounds like fun, but $40 is way steep for a gate fee.
