Engaging the Movement of Life
Please join this soulful group of movers for deeply relaxing, restorative and creative immersion into listening and responding to the ever-present flow of information and inner movement within our bodies and imaginations. We often begin with a guided meditation into Stillness and Flow in the the inner-body space, and semi-guided warm-up with music before diving into the heart of the Authentic Movement practice. Practicing deep embodied listening ~ Cultivating the freedom to follow your impulses ~ Allowing movement to unfold, accessing wisdom, guidance and creative powers Authentic Movement (AM) is a simple and profound moving meditation Practice. It engages the innate, fluid wisdom of consciousness expressing as the body. Through a variety of simple structures, moving with eyes closed, and embodied witnessing, we practice paying attention through sensory-feeling awareness. AM invites us to experience our body’s true spontaneous moment to moment expression, to lead us into stillness, sound and movement and deepening states of awareness. As we allow our body to unwind and share its own secret language, we discover aspects of ourselves and our lives from fresh perspectives. We emerge enlivened, nourished, integrated and refreshed. No previous experience with Authentic Movement is necessary, just a willingness to enter into the unknown within a safely held circle. Bring comfortable clothes and a journal for writing/drawing. Authentic Movement (AM) is a simple and profound moving meditation Practice. It engages the innate, fluid wisdom of consciousness expressing as the body. Through a variety of simple structures, moving with eyes closed, and embodied witnessing, we practice paying attention through sensory-feeling awareness.
