Feeling Stressed, Anxious or Depressed (SAD). Have you sought help from your GP? Are you facing a 3 month wait for support?
Who Do You Have to Talk to when Things get too Much? In a response to a gaping hole in government provision of mental health services, a group of us (in our more able moment) got together to take our mental health into our own hands. We are peer led. This means no participants who attend are qualified to give advice. Even though some participant may be medically trained.
So Who Are We? We are a non-judgemental support group, facilitated by an organisation called Authentic Lives.
What Do We Do? Together we use the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and incorporate them into our day to day lives. Often we feel our close circle of family and friends don't really understand what we are going through, or we may feel that they are tired of listening to us say the same thing. When we get together we talk, listen and support each other.
When Do We Meet? We meet weekly at present.
Where Do We Meet? Greenwich, Lewisham, Canary Wharf and Central London.
Who Can Come? This group is open to anyone over the age of 18 and we mean EVERYONE
We do not offer childcare. However, we also feel that no-one should lose out on support because they have children. If you feel that your child would be able to sit quietly in a corner of the room if occupied with a toy/tablet/or book. Then please feel free to bring your child along.
