Supportive Space for Men and Women who Live with Stress, Anxiety and Depression
Details
ONLINE ZOOM
In a response to a gaping hole in government provision of mental health services, a group of us (in our more able moment) got together to take our mental health into our own hands.
So Who Are We?
We are a non-judgemental peer led support group, facilitated by an organisation called Authentic Lives – This is a free service.
Together we use the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and incorporate them into our day to day lives. Often we feel our close circle of family and friends don't really understand what we are going through, or we may feel that they are tired of listening to us say the same thing. We may have never spoken to anyone about the way we feel for fear of being a burden to others. We talk, listen and support each other and if asked we offer suggestions.
There is no obligation to speak, sometimes just sitting in a group of people who understand us is enough to feed our souls.
The biggest killer of men under 45, is by suicide. For some people managing their mental health is a fight for their lives.
OUR Housekeeping Rules:
We operate a strict confidentiality policy.
We are respectful of others at all time.
