The Automotive Security Research Group Cairo (ASRG-CAI) is a non-profit initiative to promote the development of security solutions for automotive products.

GOALS:
- Research projects on publicly available vehicles, infrastructure and supporting backend systems.
- Information sharing concerning existing automotive security problems, solutions, products and technology.
- Create meaningful results to be shared with the public in a controlled manner.
- Create a community of shared resources and networking.

Secure Biometrics in Vehicles – Theory & Case Study

Join us for our upcoming ASRG-WORLD LiveStream, the global online (COVID19 Approved) version of ASRG. This time we have the pleasure of hosting Juha Hytönen (Director Embedded Security at Irdeto). During this presentation we will get a brief introduction to biometrics and different modalities with an overview of biometric use cases in vehicles. We will also talk about metrics and state of the art in biometric security, followed by examples from voice biometrics. Finally, we will discuss a case study on second factor authentication using biometrics for in-vehicle payments.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Juha Hytönen : During his career, Juha has worked in multiple different roles from software and hardware engineering to quality and compliance management in multiple industries including embedded devices, medical devices, business information systems, online gambling, automotive and rail. He has been involved in a number of industry firsts, like the first mobile Skype call, the first Linux in infotainment systems and the first digital instrument cluster. Today, Juha leads Irdeto’s Embedded Security Business Line with a mission to secure the transport industry.
