Cloud Secrets: Azure Architecture Day

Details
This is a full day event with speakers from various danish companies who use Azure as part of their business, and the idea is to provide insight and inspiration in our work. We are all at various stages on our Cloud journey and for this specific event we thought it would be interesting to focus on the architecture of various solutions.
This is another event under the "Cloud Secrets" umbrella where the aim is to unlock the secrets to the Azure Cloud and share experiences.
Please join us for this day full of awesome architecture stories straight from the cloud-trenches
** Sessions **
08:30 - 09:00 Arrival / Registration
09:00 - 09:45
Microsoft Dynamic's Azure Architecture setup
"Microsoft’s all-in-one business management solution – Dynamics 365 Business Central (https://dynamics.microsoft.com/business-central) – is a globally distributed service that is deployed entirely on the Azure public cloud. The service makes use of 30+ different Azure services, from SQL to Cosmos DB, from VMs to Functions, from Service Bus to Event Grid, from Blob Storage to Data Lake, from Load Balancer to Traffic Manager, etc. etc.
In this talk I will describe the overall architecture of the service, and how we use different services to solve various problems. My hope is to inspire you to find good solutions to your own unique problems."
By Christian Heide Damm, Microsoft Dynamics 365
10:00 - 10:45
Towards consistent and repeatable infrastructure at Umbraco
"In this talk Mikulas and Morten will share how Umbraco uses Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, as well as their approach to consistent and automated infrastructure across Development and Production environments"
By Mikulas Tomanka and Morten Christensen, Umbraco
11:00 - 11:45
From Startup to Scaleup
"In Templafy we've used Microsoft Azure PaaS to build a scalable, secure, and low maintenance platform to serve more than 1 million requests per hour and more than 500.000 unique daily users.
We are currently completing our transition from a monolith to a microservice architecture with .NET Core 3.1, Docker, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) and more.
In this session, I will show you how we use DevOps disciplines to streamline deployment and development. Our goal is to go from 25 weekly releases of the Monolith to 25 daily releases of the micro-services - without downtime.
I will also show how we use Application Insights to track and monitor all aspects of our platform."
By Thomas Jespersen, Templafy
12:00 - 12:45 Lunch
12:45 - 13:30
Remote Container Management at MAERSK
"Remote Container Management is an IOT solution for reefer monitoring, Maersk migrated the complex on-premise solution on Azure enabling enterprise IOT platform to implement more IOT use cases."
By Siddhartha Kulkarni, Maersk
13:45 - 14:30
Running Linux Docker Containers on Kubernetes Cluster in production
"KMD will present how to use Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to orchestrate Linux Docker Containers including high-availability, scalability, traffic steering, application deployment, monitoring and infrastructure as code automation."
By Marcin the Kubernetes expert at KMD
15:00 - 15:30
Geo-distributed microservices at Widex
"Rasmus will show how Widex uses Azure API Management, Functions, Cosmos DB, and more, and how we geo-distribute all of it for global reachability with low latency."
By Rasmus Wätjen, Widex
15:30 - 16:00
SQL Managed Instance at KMD
“In this talk, Jens Christian will share how KMD came from a large hosted SQL Server to a fully managed SQL Server in Azure (“lift and shift”). KMD has worked with Microsoft on SQL Server managed instance before it was GA’ed and you will get KMD’s findings regarding backup, replication and other enterprise mission critical features.”
By Jens Christian Juul Jensen, KMD
16:15 - 17:00
Maersk's approach to Azure Architecture
"In this talk, Casper will share how Maersk approaches Cloud Architecture and development.
We will dive into our architecture principles and processes and how they have been implemented in concrete products"
