This month, Aerin Artessa of Distruptor Beam will be presenting an overview of UI/UX in games, sharing anecdotes from her extensive experience, and offering tips for improving your game's UI. We're also sponsored by Autodesk this month, who will be presenting their Autodesk Forge AR/VR toolkit as well as providing pizza. Please RSVP to ensure there's enough for everyone!

We are all UX Designers once in a while, most of the time we just don’t know it. In this talk Aerin plans to run you through what UX Design applies to and when/where is fits into your project pipeline using real world examples (both successful and unsuccessful).

Aerin Artessa has been a UI/UX designer for mobile games for the past eight years working on titles for Skybound, Hasbro, Harmonix, Alcon Entertainment and Scholastic. She currently works is a Sr. UI/UX Designer at Disruptor Beam leading the UX team on an unannounced mobile game. One day she dreams of working in an AR world with her fancy cybernetic eyes.

Sponsored by Autodesk

Introducing the Autodesk Forge AR | VR Toolkit. Kevin will present an overview of the latest component in the Autodesk Forge web services. The toolkit allows you to import a Forge asset directly into Unity with two different workflows.

CIC Cambridge is located at 1 Broadway in Cambridge, just outside the Kendall Square Red Line T stop. Whenever possible, public transportation is recommended but for those who choose to drive, parking is available underneath the building on the Third Street side. Visitor parking is also available at the Kendall St garage and at the Marriott Hotel garage, and there's limited street parking as well. When checking in at the ground floor security desk of CIC Cambridge, please be sure to bring along a government-issued ID. Due to a construction project, please excuse the in-progress look of the lobby and allow yourself a few extra minutes for passage up to the 5th floor.

By attending or participating in BUG events, you agree to abide by our safe-space policy. If you feel you are unable to, please do not attend. ( )
