The Multi-platform Development of Cozy Grove
Details
Happy Spring! This month, we have Graham Pentheny speaking about what it took to simul-ship Cozy Grove with Unity on seven platforms!
DESCRIPTION:
Shipping a game on one platform is hard enough. Juggling two or more platforms with competing constraints is exceptionally challenging. In this talk Graham will recount the processes, practices, and development strategies used to simultaneously ship Cozy Grove on seven platforms in thirteen languages and across six storefronts. He'll talk through specific challenges of multi-platform development, strategies to address those challenges and avoid pitfalls, and discuss the production process of coordinating a simul-launch.
SPEAKER:
Graham Pentheny is a Senior Software Engineer at Spry Fox. He was the engineering manager for Cozy Grove, a cozy Animal Crossing style indie game released in 2021. Previously, he's worked on titles such as Alphabear 1&2, Fieldrunners 1&2, Steambirds Alliance, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, and is a published voice in the game AI industry.

We intend to get things back to normal as soon as possible, and look forward to better days. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us at admins@bostonunitygroup.com.
By attending or participating in BUG events, you agree to abide by our safe-space policy (https://tinyurl.com/yablpctf). If you feel you are unable to, please do not attend or participate.
Thanks to our sponsors! Unity and The CIC Cambridge are generously sponsoring our meetup this month.
