BA Crowd Peterborough is a group for anyone with a passion or interest in Business Analysis in Peterborough and the surrounding areas.
It’s a great place to meet like-minded people, learn, discuss skills and knowledge share.
The aim is to host regular meet ups including presentations, lightning talks, videos and workshops covering anything that may be of benefit to a BA, aspiring BA or someone who works with a BA.
We want this to be your 'go to' place for aspects of the role that you need help with, support from others or ideas how to do it better.

"The BA’s Gambit: How thinking like a chess grandmaster can sharpen your analysis.
Ever felt like business analysis is a game of strategy? I certainly have—and not just because stakeholders sometimes move like unpredictable pawns! In this session, I’ll share how the principles of chess—anticipating moves, thinking several steps ahead, and balancing risk with opportunity—can transform the way we approach analysis.
We’ll explore how opening gambits mirror project kick-offs, why middle-game tactics resemble stakeholder negotiations, and how endgame thinking helps us deliver value under pressure. No need to know your Sicilian from your Scandinavian—I promise this isn’t a chess lesson. It’s about sharpening your analytical edge, making smarter decisions, and maybe even enjoying the game a little more.

Steve's Bio:
Steve is a Change and IT Director, and a big Agile advocate.
He's an agile software delivery expert with experience of leading businesses through technological and organisational change, both large and small, within the UK financial services industry.
He's also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, with an MBA in technology management.
Inside work, Steve says that delivering value through change and constantly driving up quality standards keeps him busy; and outside of work it's his two children!
