What we're about

Welcome! We are yoga lovers seeking to strengthen the energy of compassionate interdependence, both in our personal lives and in our public communities.

Our Meetups support causes and organizations that are fighting for a sustainable planet. Give an OM for Climate Change!

Monthly classes led by yoga teacher Sandi Higgins in an accessible Ashtanga based vinyasa style that includes chanting, pranayama, restorative poses, and a sweet final resting. Teachers from a myriad of styles and traditions of yoga practice are also invited to offer classes, workshops, and events. A percentage of profits from BAE YOGA classes will be donated to various environmental or animal causes and organizations. A record of all donations will be made public.

Spontaneous powwows and potlucks known to arise outdoors in warm weather.

Do you have other ideas, questions, visions to help develop and further sustainable and compassionate living skills? Bring them to our Meetups!

Boulder Recycling Center Tour & Picnic

Boulder County Recycling Center

Now a monthly Meetup to our Mecca of Sustainability! "The Boulder County Recycling Center prepares recyclable materials for shipment to recycling mills. The facility processes over 45,000 tons a year and has the capacity to process 75,000 tons a year." First we'll take a short self-guided tour of the center, where we learn more about sustainability and waste, including what we actually can and cannot recycle. We will also see the impressive fast-action of the workers and the machinery sorting items. Second, as long as the weather is nice - we will pick a spot outside to sit, eat, and chat together. There is a picnic table. Please make sure your lunch is packed in a reusable/recyclable container! "Educational exhibits at the Boulder County Recycling Center explain how cans, bottles, jars and paper are separated and sorted to be shipped across the country and made into something new. Overlooking the processing center, visitors can also see single-stream recycling technology in action. Other exhibits focus on the natural resources used to make common materials such as soda cans and plastic bottles and the environmental benefits of recycling these items." * This Meetup welcomes a maximum of 9 people. If we have 10 or more people interested, we will schedule or reschedule for a free guided tour.
