September BAFUG

Details
Thursday of this week is another BAFUG meeting.
Hacker Dojo again; reminder: location is now:
599 Fairchild Dr
Mountain View, CA 94043
If you're on VTA Light Rail from Mountain View, after departing the
Middlefield stop, the building where Hacker Dojo is is the last one to
the east of the Light Rail tracks before you cross under the Bayshore
freeway. Here's a link to a page with more information:
or a link directly to Google Maps:
Google Maps suggests exiting VTA Light Rail at the Bayshore/NASA
station, then walking over to Ellis, under the Bayshore freeway, then
turn left at Fairchild.
We will be in the "Classroom"; there are maps posted within the Dojo
itself. I strongly suggest that you arrive 10 - 15 minutes early in
order to get oriented if you haven't been there before.
Please note that there are two parking lots (one rather small), but each
is reserved specifically for Hacker Dojo -- no more sharing parking with
other concerns. On the other hand, there may be other, larger,
meetings at Hacker Dojo. So there is some practical value in reducing
one's need to find a parking space.
The meeting (proper) starts at 7:00 PM (1900 hrs. local); expect to be
kicked out by 10:00 PM (2200 hrs. local).
FreeBSD stuff:
9.2 is appproaching release; RC3 is presently available, and RC4 is
expected "soonish."
The target schedule for 10.0-RELEASE has been published; please see
< http://www.freebsd.org/releases/10.0R/schedule.html > for it.
The Subversion port is now at 1.8.3.
I discovered that the Intel "82578DM Gigabit Network Connection" using the
em(4) driver works a great deal better if one does "sysctl
net.inet.tcp.tso=0". See
for my
initial message on that.
See you there!
