Slaugham and Bolney Circular - 11 miles

Details

An attractive circular walk at the western end of the High Weald. Nice views and perhaps the remains of bluebells! The route passes through the countryside surrounding the villages of Slaugham, Warninglid and Bolney, including the side of Wykehurst Park. Pub lunch at the Eight Bells (http://www.theeightbellsbolney.co.uk/our_menus.php) or picnic. I have booked a table for 10 for a pub lunch and will have their menu for the day with me for us to preorder before we set off. Please let me know by 3pm Saturday if you would like one of the places.

The walk begins from outside St Mary’s Church, Slaugham (postcode RH17 6AG) at 10.15am. Do not use the church car park, but instead leave cars in the adjacent roads, ensuring that no entrances to driveways or fields are blocked. There is limited availability of on-street parking, so car sharing is advised where possible. We will be leaving at 10.15am so if you think you will be late, my suggestion is leave earlier! :)

Cars required. Please post a comment if you are able to offer any members a lift from Brighton, south end of Preston Park for a 9:35am departure, or state an alternative location and the relevant time. Our recommended meeting point near the Rose Garden is shown on this map (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=530851&y=105812&z=110&sv=530851,105812&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=533&ax=530851&ay=105812&lm=0).

NB. Travel expenses are divided equally between the driver and the passengers, with the rate currently being 30p per mile for car sharing arrangements.

See our walks programme (http://www.ramblers.org.uk/go-walking/find-a-walk-or-route/walk-detail.aspx?walkID=3903421) and the announcement (http://bahr.org.uk/profiles/blogs/30s-50s-slaugham-and-bolney-circular-sunday-14th-may-2017?xg_source=activity) on the main BAHR website for more information.

We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (http://www.ramblers.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-member.aspx) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.

It is essential to RSVP if you are coming on this walk and have not yet joined the Ramblers (see above).
