Big data is here to stay. While most of the effort during past years has focused first into building scalable data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, then into learning and developing Map/Reduce applications, and finally getting the clusters running. However, once they are deployed and running, tuning their performance and managing data becomes the challenge and the focus for this group! Itnig (http://itnig.net/)
Join us on the kickoff meetup to discuss group objectives, ideas, next talks and do some networking with other data speeders. And of course, enjoy some beers sponsored by Estrella Damm at Itnig (http://itnig.net/).
19:00 - Arrive at Itnig and meet other members
19:15 - Short talk: The case for Hadoop performance (by Nico Poggi)
19:35 - Discussion of group of objectives and upcoming talks
20:00 - Networking and beers
