Tonji Zimmerman

Tonji Zimmerman is a Senior Technical Consultant at Pearson Education. With over 18 years of software development experience, Tonji has worked in a variety of industries including retail, healthcare, transportation, and e-learning. She has expertise in Java & web application development.

Tonji started her journey with BDPA at the 2005 National Conference, when she participated in an adult programming competition in which she won 1st place. In 2006, she was recruited to training our High School Computer Camp students and found she has a passion for educating our youth in technology. For nearly 10 years, she has been an active member of the BDPA Detroit Chapter. She has been a trainer and coordinator for the High School Computer Camp for nearly 9 years. Most recently, she has transitioned to lead our organization's national Mobile Application Showcase.

Tonji is a native of Detroit & an alumni of Michigan State University with a B.S. in Computer Engineering.
