Our monthly meeting to discuss a specific film. It’s assumed attendees will have seen the film before the evening and we can discuss whether what we liked (or disliked) about it.

In November, we're discussing Paweł Pawlikowski's Oscar Winner "Ida" Available on the BFI player, Curzon Online and Youtube. Also on DVD/BluRay from all online retailers.

Film Trip: "Possessed" (1932) at The Cinema Museum

Our November trip is taking us back to the newly re-opened Cinema Museum in Kennington. To watch Joan Crawford's 1932 Pre-Code film "Possessed", presented by the brilliant "Women & Cocaine"

Film Trip: "Aelita: Queen Of Mars" at the Institut Français

French Institute of the United Kingdom

Earlier this year we went to see live music accompany a silent horror classic. Following on from that, this November, an early Science Fiction film "Aelita, Queen of Mars" is being shown in the Institut Français with live music so it seems like a good excuse to check out live music in a different genre!

December Discussion: Cat People (1942)

December we're going to talk about Val Lewton's classic "Cat People" and - if people feel brave enough - the Paul Schrader remake.

Both films are available on DVD or Blu Ray. The original Cat People is also available on the BBC iPlayer, while the remake can be rented from Amazon, AppleTV and iTunes.
