Hi there! The BHM FBC's goal is to foster feminist community through a shared love of books. If you're interested in expanding your knowledge of feminism and connecting with others who want the same, join us!
This group intends to be inclusive and we welcome people of all identities and levels of experience with feminism. We will read a diverse range of both fiction and nonfiction to explore feminism and the way it intersects with discrimination based on race, age, socioeconomic status, religion, physical or mental ability, and gender or sexual identity. The goal is to learn from our reading and each other.
Our group is just getting started and we welcome input from members on how to structure our meetings. We'll be taking feedback on the best times and locations as well as book selection. If you have suggestions or questions, let us know!
Let's kick off our book club with the short, but poignant _We Should All be Feminists_ by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
It's a very quick read, but even if you don't have time to finish it, please join us if you're interested in the group! In addition to book talk, we'll discuss how we want to organize the group going forward, including book selection, meetup times, and locations.
Let's try meeting at the Pizitz Food Hall. If it's nice, we can sit outside or pull together as many tables as we need inside. Feel free to grab whatever food or beverage strikes your fancy, or just bring yourself!
