What we're about

What is a Prepper?

The dictionary defines a Prepper as “An individual that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances in order to minimize the effects of that change on their current lifestyle”.

BIBO – (Bug In / Bug Out) In the world of prepping this is always the first decision that must be made. This decision is in making the choice of whether to stay at home (Bug-In) or whether to leave to a safer location (Bug-Out). Many preppers make a critical mistake in focusing their efforts on one or the other choice. A true prepper must be prepared to survive in either situation. This group will focus on understanding the threats from a wide-range of natural and man-made emergency events and on learning the techniques required for prepping to survive the aftermath of these events. Meetings will be held twice a month and will also include special scheduled events. Individuals that have an interest in gaining knowledge, acquiring new skills and learning about necessary equipment will have the chance to network with like-minded individuals that are preppers and survivalists.

Some common topics will include:
Long-term Food and Water Storage
First Aid and Medical Equipment
EMP and Faraday Cages
Alternative Power Generation
Firearms and Alternate Weapon Creation
Martial Arts Defense Training
Bug out Vehicles and Locations
Communications Technology
Rebuilding Society and Psychological Impacts
...and more

The world has become a very uncertain place. Members of all genders, races, religious, political or age groups share a common feeling that something is just not right with the direction that modern society has taken. Many fear the seeming breakdown of civility and have witnessed the failings of our government dealing with large scale natural and man-made disasters. We are not associated with any religious or political group. We are just a group of ordinary, law-abiding, people who want to share objective information about how regular, every day folks can prepare for the types of scenarios one may encounter here in the First Coast area.
