Let’s have a BLAST!

BLAST (Bi, Lesbian and Straight Together) Women of the Palm Beaches is a social and professional networking group for women, ladies, kings, lesbians, bisexual gals, girly-girls, butches, femmes, bois, transwomen, lesbian-feminist womyn, questioning, aces/aros, and gay-friendly straight feminists. Our mission is build the local women's community, share resources, and make it easy for members to set up events by, for, and about women in Palm Beach County. Note: Mostly Gen X and Baby Boomers, but we have members ranging from Millennials to Greatest Generation. All ages welcomed with open arms.

Death Café is a worldwide movement, bringing people together to discuss a subject that impacts us all. TONIGHT'S TOPIC: PREPPING FOR DEATH • How it feels to prep for death (your own, someone else's) • Paperwork (living will, last will, and medical/legal POAs) • Planning the memorial/funeral (your own, someone else's) • "Swedish Death Cleaning" • What and how do you still need to prepare? WHAT TO EXPECT • Death Cafés are philosophical/practical discussions, not grief support or counseling sessions. Discussions are confidential and respectful. • Death Cafés have no intention of leading participants to any specific conclusion, product, belief system, or course of action. • Cake will be provided, because life is short and we should have cake. Learn how to play Bunco! ABOUT BUNCO It's a fun and easy party game anyone can play. No skill or prior knowledge is needed. Bunco is a social dice game where you change partners and tables after every round. You will get to meet all the players and you may end up with painful cheeks from laughing too hard - and/or one of the cash prizes. COST Only $5 to play YOUR RSVP IS IMPORTANT Bunco is played in groups of four. The space is limited, so please be very mindful of your RSVP. It's really problematic when players cancel at the last minute. WHAT TO BRING • Potluck lunch to share • Whatever you want to drink • Good sense of humor and playfulness POTLUCK LUNCH Please put in comments below what you're bringing for the lunch, so we don't all bring the same thing. TIME Potluck lunch at noon; play will start at about 12:30. Bunco usually takes approximately 2.5 hours. PARKING This is a single family home with a large lot. There's plenty of parking on the grass (no sprinkler system) and along the roadway. Just please no parking on the grass directly in front of front door as it is the drain field. It'll be marked off. Each month, join Manatee Lagoon’s Manatee Masters and an expert speaker for a lecture to learn about a new topic. Today: "The Wonders of Walking Sharks." TODAY'S PROGRAM Manatee Master and FAU graduate student Andrea Hernandez will talk about epaulette sharks and how they are adapted for walking underwater. She will also take a deeper look at different forms of locomotion in sharks, and why it’s important to understand shark body shape and movement.
