What we're about

The Bacchus Club hosts periodic Wine Tasting events. We try to host at least one event every month which may be a Tasting, Wine and Food Pairing, Educational or simply social. As opportunities arise we will host additional events during the month that we feel will interest our members. So, if you're a wine enthusiast who'd like to meet like minded people please join us. Bonum vinum laetificat cor hominis! (Latin for Good wine gladdens a person's heart.)

I'm posting this event to test interest for spring/summer sailing lessons on Lake St. Clair, on my family's 34-foot 1987 Hunter sailboat. I thought Bacchus members would be a fun group to get together for this. Start date to be determined.

We'll sail out of North Star Sailing Club in Harrison Township. We'll have 5 lessons in the evening (probably Wednesday or Thursday) and take turns bringing food and wine to have before the sail. I'm aiming for a group of about 5 participants and will add additional sessions depending on interest. We'll meet at the boat between 5:30 - 6, and sail around 6:15. I'm hiring a very knowledgeable sailing instructor from my sailing club to teach. The charge will be $125 for the 5-week session, which goes to the instructor. We'll dock around 9 or 9:30, and you'll be home by 10 or so.

Sailing is a total blast. By the end of the session, you'll know your way around a sailboat and will have the basics down. You may then decide to join a local sail club and crew on a race boat. If you are interested, please sign up but also give me your phone number and email so that I can get the logistics together. I'll be in touch over the next couple weeks.
