The Lake District is without a doubt the best part of England to enjoy the mountains. There is so much to do and the area deserves in-depth exploration so let's make it a proper summer holiday and go for a whole week!
The Lake District can not be beaten for mountain adventure in England with the highest mountains, hundreds of summits and exhilarating scrambling routes. Our plan is to base ourselves right in the heart of it on the shores of the lovely lake Buttermere.

We have managed to secure some top quality accommodation deep in the mountains, offering sublime tranquility. Hassness House is operated by Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and is beautifully located in its own extensive grounds on Lake Buttermere. You can find sheep grazing and red squirrels scurrying around just outside the door. It is one of the most remote parts of the Lake District, has been recognised as offering some of Britain's best views and is a perfect starting point for some truly remarkable days in the hills.

Accommodation is in one double, eight twins and three singles - sleeping 21 people in total. All bedrooms have been recently refurbished and are very comfortable. A delicious cooked breakfast, picnic lunch, freshly baked cakes and a three course evening meal is provided every day by our resident chef (except Tuesday when there is a buffet breakfast and we can choose any one of the local pubs or restaurants to visit).
The English Lake District is one of the most beautiful and dramatic walking areas in this country.
