A leader-less group of backpacking enthusiasts (That means you are responsible for yourself and no one is tasked with taking care of you or providing directions to you, etc.). This group and all trips will always be FREE. If you are fun-loving, adventurous, tolerant, inclusive, self-sufficient and want to explore the wilderness areas of Colorado, you are the perfect member for this group.  Our trips are usually in the less-traveled areas of Colorado's Wilderness Areas.  We hike to the destination, set up camp and stay at the same site for the entirety of the trip.  This allows for the second day to explore, read, sleep, fish, or whatever else you feel like doing.  Please leave your political and religious opinions at home. We emphasize Leave No Trace and the Ten Essentials. However, we are not 'dogmatic' about Leave No Trace: If you would like to have a campfire, burn your trash, walk in the creek, etc. feel free to do so. If you object to these freedoms, please do not join this group. If you are a source of conflict with others you will be removed from this group at the discretion of the Organizer.  You are responsible for your own safety, food, shelter, clothing, sanitation, navigation, first aid, equipment and anything else related to wilderness backpacking. By signing up for this group and/or a trip, you explicitly release all others from any liability for your safety and health. We encourage group consensus when on the trail but ultimately you are responsible for yourself. Please do not sign up for a trip if you have any medical conditions that would require assistance from others. Again, we emphasize self-sufficiency with collegiality and a fun-loving atmosphere. There are no leaders, only backpacking companions on every trip. When you sign up for a trip, you are expected to research the area, navigation (maps, GPS, compass, PLB are suggestions but, of course, you make your own choices), resources, distances, and available emergency resources if needed. Bring your own adult beverages, etc, if desired but please use in moderation so we can maintain a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with no 'drama'. We tend to be a group over the age of 30. No one under the age of 21 and no pets of any kind, please.
