Tell us what brought you to the world of skepticism, agnosticism or atheism?

Although raised as a southern baptist, I have tried methodists, lutherans, catholicism, regular baptisits, born again and other christian based faiths. I have had friends that have been buddhists, jewish, scientologists, mormon, etc... Not one of them has ever been able to explain much of anything past "you just have to have faith" when backed into a corner about their beliefs. I have read C. Dennis McKinseys Biblical Errancy front to back and have enjoyed the easy to understand cross checking between books in the bible.

Tell us if you are and atheist, agnositc, or a believer in religion.

Higher power? Maybe. Enlightened being? Maybe. Advanced humanoid with access to more than our dimension and ability to move time and space? Maybe. Could we be the result of an alien chicken bone from a picnic, thrown into the primordial soup of our early planets life? Maybe. The judeo-christian god represented today? Absolutely not. But I am open to ideas.

Hi, my name is Darran and I have been a non-believer for almost 30 years. I am located in the North Tustin area and have been involved in my community for many years.

What Darran is saying about this Meetup Group

WOW! This was a great event. Thank you to everyone who came and was able to open up and share experiences and ideas freely. Everyone had something to contribute. Unlike most parties/get togethers I have been to, almost everyone here had no problem going up to complete strangers and introducing themselves and have a conversation with them. What a terrific experience and group of people.
