The original fossils of Donald Johansen’s 1974 find,Australopithecus afarensis are on display along with a reconstruction. Although it isn’t large, I highly recommend this exhibit. It is well laid out and explained, and there is a nice mural depicting our ancestry going back 6 million years. The Lucy exhibit ends on April 28th, and once they leave the Bowers,Lucy’s fossils will be permanently housed in Ethiopia and not go on tour again. Thus, this is your last opportunity to see this major anthropological find. Cost is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and parking is $6.
Let's have lunch at the Bower's Museum at the Tangata restaurant, which is actually on the museum grounds at 12pm, then go see Lucy at 1pm.
Tangata's menu is HERE (http://www.bowers.org/files/Lunch_menu.pdf) PLEASE RSVP before Saturday so I can make the appropriate reservations. Thanks
