What we’re about
Is there harmony between science and religion? Why do all these religions exist? Will we ever have peace? How does our approach to feminism play its part? What's the moral approach to wealth and success? How should governments be organised to be effective and fair?
These are questions that are central to the teachings of the Baha'i Faith, the newest world religion. Baha'is believe that there is one God, one mankind, and one eternal Faith which is repeated in different forms throughout the ages. Not many people can say they were alive to see the 200th anniversary (October 2017) of the birth of the Prophet Founder of an entire world religion. But you and I can.
If you would like to learn more in these exciting times, come along to the fortnightly Baha'i Basics evening. Alternate Mondays 7.30-8.30pm with nibbles. We'll have a short talk on a central Baha'i topic, followed by questions and free conversation.
Topics likely to come up over the next few sessions (happy to take suggestions):
The purpose of language in achieving prosperity
The Baha'i approach to wealth and poverty
The relationship between science and religion
The nature of the soul
Gender equality and feminism
The spiritual uniqueness of our adolescent years
Baha'i administration - a Faith with no clergy
Expect small numbers with a cosy and relaxed atmosphere :). Looking forward to meeting you!
