Beginner's Photography Workshop
Course Title: Beginning Photography Workshop I've redone this workshop to show you the steps I take to decide on what settings to use and when! There's even a flow chart to help you make your own decisions so you can refer back. It may be the photoscientist in me, but I think there has to be a way for you to create the images you want, when you want, and have a system to do so. So that's what I've done. I've created a system you can use to make your own decisions! Description: If your photos are too dark, too bright, or blurry and out of focus, and you don't know why, you're in the right place. At the end of this workshop you'll know exactly how to get the photo you thought you were taking, and with a little practice, you'll be well on your way to taking the best photos of your life. In this hands-on workshop students will learn photographic terminology, the interaction between Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO to produce an accurately exposed image, the fundamentals of White Balance, metering and exposure options, choosing a lens and basic composition. Students will need to bring; a Digital SLR, or Interchangeable Lens Compact/ Point & Shoot camera that allows manual adjustments; the camera manual; charged/spare batteries; additional lenses (if you have them); camera cards. Objectives: · To learn the correlation between Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO in obtaining an accurate exposure · How to control the camera in Manual, Aperture Priority, and Shutter Priority modes · Understanding Depth of Field and how to control it · How to choose a lens · Understand why White Balance is important You'll also get plenty of hands-on instruction to practice using your camera while we walk a local park.
