Come join us for our next Speaker Night! Our very own member, Serena, will be presenting. She has a background as a Navy engineer as well as an associates degree in graphic design. She began working with the Unity 3D SDK in her post-Navy life while working at an educational video game startup. Although her official position was as project coordinator, because of her background she ended up sliding into development work, first assisting with debugging, then drawing up storyboards, and eventually doing some level design. Her presentation will discuss the following topics:
Introduction to the basic set up and capabilities:
The interface
Add-on packages
Creating basic shapes
Importing external graphics and objects
Attaching a C# script
(If there's time, a brief look at the Animator)
Bonus: A bit of information about AR development using ARCore, including some of the limitations and challenges I experienced on a small project. (I'll include a little video snippet)
This session will be relaxed. Questions are welcomed. Serena, considers herself at the intermediate level and will attempt to answer whatever questions she can. The walk-through should take an hour or less and then attendees can use the remaining time for open discussion.
