What we're about

Difficult economic times call for personal, emotional, psychological and (if requested) spiritual support, especially while unemployed. The Corner Community Center wants to help. Join our Baltimore Job Hunters Support Group (BJHSG) on Mondays at 6:30 pm and Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (right now we are meeting virtually on Zoom).

Nancy Jeannechild and Rev. Carol Cook started this group in November 2011 for people hunting for work to share job hunting ideas and tips and to support one another. Sometimes it helps just to know that other people empathize with your situation. Janet Glover-Kerkvliet became co-facilitator and director in January 2015. She is joined by amazing volunteer leaders, including Molly Timko, Lee Domeika, Lynn Eskite-Tant, and Daneviere Battle.

The mission of the Baltimore Job Hunters Support Group is to increase HOPE (Happiness, Opportunities, Positivity, Encouragement) for all job seekers, with emphasis on the long-term unemployed, by providing social, emotional, and psychological support, along with information, referral, and customized strategies, to help the un(der)employed maintain resilience, energy, and self-confidence as they strive to recharge, redesign and rebuild successful careers." Our vision is "Good Jobs for Every Generation."

If you know of people searching for work, please share this information with them. Questions? Call the director (410-627-2372), or email jobseekers@bjhsg.org. Check out our website http://www.bjhsg.org
