Tree Grafting Workshop

Tree Grafting Workshop

Details

Note: This event will be taught by an expert closely related to BOP, but will not be hosted by BOP. Please RSVP at: https://www.meetup.com/Charm-City-Farms/events/178925162/

Description: The workshop will first go over the science and mechanics of grafting and budding and how to properly plant a grafted tree. Next will be a demonstration and instruction of cleft, bark, bud, saddle and whip & tongue grafting. Participants will then do some hands on grafting of their own. Participants can take home what ever monstrosity they've created. This is a “mechanical” workshop, without rootstock. The material can be propagated, but there is no guarantee if the graft and/or the plant will take. At the end of the workshop I will explain some methods of propagation so your plant has a better chance of survival.

Participants will be working in pairs. This is for your safety so you have a “spotter” in case you are being a little careless with the tools. So, consider bringing a partner that you trust.

All materials and tools will be provided for this workshop.

Cost per participant: $20

Minimum participants: 11

Maximum participants: 15

If there is a substantial waiting list I'll schedule a second one in the afternoon.

NOTE: If you would like to host something like this or any other of my upcoming or past workshops please email Eric at charmcityfarms@gmail.com .
