Upcoming events (2)
Join us on Piscataway, Nanticoke, Susquehannock land for an outdoor yoga class with Shanae, then walk, bike, skate, or blade around beautiful lake Montebello. Kids and families are welcome! No RSVP needed for this event.
Directions/Meeting: We will meet at the entrance (33rd and Hillen Rd). You will probably need to park along Hillen Rd. and walk a couple of blocks to the lake.
Yoga with Shanae from 6:30 to 7:30, then everything else after that! Except for yoga, other activities will be mostly self-guided.
Restrooms: There are no restrooms at the Lake, and not really anywhere easily within walking distance. If anyone gets desperate, we can get you to the home of a nearby member :-)
Bring extra gear if you have some to share with newcomers. If you are a biking/skateboarding/rollerskating/roller blading expert and want to share your knowledge by helping out other attendees, message Adrienne!
Join us to hike on Piscataway land on the Big Loop Trail in Gunpowder Falls State Park, Hereford Area! This is a 5 mile loop, with 663 feet of elevation, along the lovely Gunpowder River. There are some small stream crossings where you step on rocks or logs or wade in a couple inches of water. The hike should take about 2.5 hours. Toward the end of the hike there is a small beachy area where we can dunk our feet in the water!
**PARKING AND DIRECTIONS**
Do NOT type the park name into your GPS because you will go to the wrong place! You can use the link in this event, the link in the alltrails app, or the address 17504 Bunker Hill Road should get you close enough that you can see us.
Parking is on the side of Bunker Hill Road (you will turn off of York Rd onto Bunker Hill across from Hereford High School and should see parked cars and the trailhead under the 83 overpass).
You can get more info about the trail here, though we are not doing the full 7 miles on this trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maryland/bunker-hill-big-loop
Restrooms: There are no restrooms at this hike, so stop somewhere on the way or be prepared to use the bathroom outside.
Bring: water, snacks, grippy shoes or hiking boots, sunscreen, bug spray, and anything you need to use the bathroom in the woods
