Vim near Valentine's Day? Sure, they both start with V, why not? On February 12, let us count the ways in which we love Vim. Much like January, we're a week off our normal schedule this month; this time we're avoiding President's Day.

If you don't get enough time during the Meetup to figure out a good Vim-related line to fit into "Roses Are Red", then anyone who's interested can head to the nearby Yum's Asian Bistro where we can continue the conversation.

Scheduled Talk(s):

* (Beginner) GUI Vim versus Terminal Vim - Jamal Bourne

Although Vim is a terminal-based editor, some people are just more comfortable with a graphical interface. But, it turns out you can have your cake and eat it too, as Vim has a graphical user interface as well. In this talk you'll learn the critical differences that you can expect when you switch between the GUI and terminal versions of Vim.

* (Beginner) A .vimrc Tour - Stephen Belcher

Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination... unfortunately. I've been threatening it for a long time, and now you'll all finally get to see what too much time editing my .vimrc has wrought.

Scheduled Beer: Peabody Heights Brewery "Thirstay", a 6% American Pale Ale. "A danktastic citrusy hop bomb in the new American Pale Ale family. 'Thirstay' is brewed with excessive amounts of Citra, Amarillo, and Galaxy; resulting in a hopped up Pale with notes of orange sherbet, papaya and resiny grapefruit dopeness."
