I'm a fan of Balticon, and this year was as good as ever. I heard Guest of Honor Joe Haldeman speak. It was a delight to hear about his career, his writing process, and his love for fountain pens and his dearly-departed Olivetti Valentine manual typewriter. I bought his autographed poem titled "Forever Peace To Stop War," which I think shows a different creative side to this author. I heard Nnedi Okorafor read in the Garden Room on Saturday. She read from "Lagoon", a story of First Contact where aliens land at Lagos, Nigeria. It's not humans that they contact first, but the fish in Lagos Bay. Her writing was poetic. She was eager to talk about writing, her background as the daughter of Nigerian parents, and how she draws on African culture and current events in her fiction.

I attended 3 informative panels on social media.

The Baltimore Coalition of Reason organized a dinner with David Silverman, President of American Atheists, which had 16 attending Saturday night.

I noticed via the GCOM website that you have in your inventory a copy of the Avalon Hill game "Gunslinger". May I request someone add that to the library in the game room? (I LOVE that game)
