Using object oriented styles, media queries and HTML5 to create responsive web sites and applications that move gracefully between devices can make your CSS code extensive and difficult to maintain. Using CSS pre-compiling speeds up the process of creating website styles, breaks up changes in styles for varied devices into manageable portions, and allows for site-wide style changes in just a few lines of code.
