May 2021 Meeting - Designing and working with Docker and Kubernetes

Speaker: Mark Lindell is the Chief Software Architect at ICANotes, a behavioural health EMR company. He has a passion for learning new technology and tries to craft new code everyday. His software career spans 36+ years.

Abstract: Designing and working with Docker and Kubernetes is no longer constrained to the role of DevOps engineers. It is a “must have'' bullet on the resumes of professional software engineers. This presentation will enlighten you to the basic architecture and components of Docker and Kubernetes, get you started on your desktop with Docker Desktop and WSL2 and allow you to build and deploy some simple examples. I hope to inspire you to start containerizing all your software.
