Grokking Clojure Libraries by Aditya Athalye
Sooner or later every Clojurist lands in a situation where they have to choose one library out of a bewildering array of alternatives. Sadly, there is no standard decision-making formula. Only shared experiences.
So the session hopes to be a demo + discussion that adds to our tribal knowledge pool of techniques and tricks to explore Clojure libraries, particularly from a design point of view. I will compare Component and Mount as an example (libraries for managing the start/stop lifecycle of an application), to set the stage.
I've used Clojure off and on over the last 8 years, mainly to write developer tools, and for a bit of web backend development. I like to learn and teach the language and have helped organize IN/Clojure a few times. I currently work at nilenso. I'm by no means an expert library evaluator, so I have at least as much to learn as I have to show!
