The aim of this meetup is bring together embedded designers, learners, doers and makers together to learn, explore and Build. We aim to make the meets practical with lots of hands on workshops on PCB Design, Embedded C Programming, RTOS, MCUs: AVR,PIC,ARM, Sensors and shields.
A few of us would like to get together to discuss RTOS (Real time operating systems) and how the field of Embedded Systems needs RTOS to address the increasing complexity prevalent in embedded applications and products.
A Real Time Operating System (RTOS) is a popular solution in providing a scalable way to manage system complexity. It allows mixed hardware real-time needs along with other embedded software needs.
In this discussion we aim to cover the basic features of an RTOS, examples of popular RTOS deployments, when to use RTOS and the pitfalls associated with using an RTOS. Further, we plan to also discuss FreeRTOS - a class of RTOS that is designed to be small enough to run on a microcontroller (although its use is not limited to microcontroller applications)
Date and Time of this meetup is not yet decided. Suggestions are welcome!
