Noël Coward's comedy "Blithe Spirit" Dinner Theatre at The British Club

Details

A Meetup group event for this live comedy play with some very talented performers (Bangkok Community Theatre) is being organized as a dinner theatre at The British Club. This play is also having five other performances in March so if you can't attend with our group, you have other choices of dates. For information on the other performances, go to http://www.bct-th.org/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=191For our Meetup group, this play is replacing the play we had originally scheduled for March, "Art", which was cancelled by another theatre group.

Blithe Spirit is a classic Coward comedy: while working on a novel about the occult, Charles Condomine decides to invite an eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, to hold a séance at his house. When the ghost of Charles' first wife, Elvira, is inadvertently summoned, Charles second wife, Ruth, is not well pleased. Magic and mayhem follow as Elvira makes herself at home!

Noël Coward remains one of the most popular and entertaining writers in British history. Blithe Spirit was written in only five days during the Blitz in 1941, and when first produced in London, it broke the record for longest running non-musical British play. The play also did well on Broadway (657 performances) and was adapted for film in 1945 starring Rex Harrison. Since then, Blithe Spirit has seen countless revivals on both sides of the Atlantic, including several television productions.
