Mark Teehan, Principal Solutions Engineer, Confluent

Bio:
Mark Teehan is a systems engineer at Confluent in Singapore. In his day-to-day work, Mark engages with organisations that are interested in event streaming, realtime ETL or anything related to running Apache Kafka systems. Interest in Apache Kafka spans banks, telcos, airlines, digital natives, government departments, insurance and manufacturing.

Speedtest: Benchmark Your Apache Kafka®

Abstract:
In this session, Mark will talk about running benchmarking utilities for Apache Kafka; to determine how much MB/sec a cluster can handle; how to set up automated benchmark runs (including the repo), and using this to find and optimize client-side producer configuration properties

Chatchai re-architect's from monolith to microservices design/structure.
He also researches, strategies, and applies the right technologies that fit the company's direction.

How We Applied Apache Kafka® in Sunday.

Abstract:
This talk is about sharing our past experience of shifting from monolith design to microservice architecture and the way we utilize Apache Kafka in the first run.

• Why did we choose Apache Kafka instead of any other message brokers.
• Where we put Apache Kafka in the architecture design.
• The wrong decision we've made and how we plan to solve it.
