How are you? Hope you are doing fine and stay safe!
Next week the Global Day of Coderetreat will take place (you remember we did it 2 years ago? > https://www.meetup.com/es-ES/BarcelonaJUG/events/256208230/ ). For some of you that don't know it, Global Day of Coderetreat is a fun event as well as interesting to try other languages, pairing with other people, etc. We wanted to host this year's Coderetreat in Dynatrace's offices but since this is not possible,... well, we managed to get it via zoom! 😉
So, this time we invite you to participate in this Global Day of Coderetreat. Coderetreat is a day-long (because of the remote, we think it will be enough to do it half of the day), intensive practice event, focusing on the fundamentals of software development and design.
The overall idea of the session will be to practice by pairs (so get ready to pair with some other developer 👩💻👨💻 ) and improve our skills related to writing and designing software and to improve our ability to write code that minimizes the cost of change over time.
The process is simple:
- Start with a simple programming problem: Conway's Game of Life
- We will work with different partners to discuss and solve the problem
- We will add restrictions to force us to consider different approaches
- After each round, we will throw out your code and repeat!
Of course, we will do some breaks during the morning 😉

PS1: No matter what programming language you most commonly use, the idea of the session is to learn from other colleagues and even to learn other languages
