Wood Shop Safety/Orientation

Details
Sundays are Wood Shop Days for Barrel of Makers!
You can join us to work on your own project, or help with a group build. But first, you need to come out for this class!
We'll cover the general rules of the shop, as well as how to safely operate the tools you need for these basic wood shop tasks:
• Two ways to hurt yourself - Know them both and avoid them!
• Use the arm saw, chop saw, table saw, drill press, and scroll saw.
• Many ways to measure incorrectly - Avoid!
• Many types of wood, learn about some of them. Then....
• Make many types of sawdust!
By the end of this short class: You will be able to use the wood shop during our Open Wood Shop Sundays and Open Wood Shop Sundays on a Thursdays! Also, you will create a small wood project, that gets you a little practice using all the skills listed above.
