Cavallo Point Trail Hike in Marin

Cavallo Point is located in Marin County near the Golden Gate Bridge at the old Fort Baker. We'll start here and join up with the Coastal Trail, which makes a steady climb of about 900 feet above the bay. At the top of the hill, we'll stop for lunch to take in one of the many spectacular views of San Francisco, Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the bay. We'll then return via the same trail. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Arrive early and enjoy the view at Cavallo Point.

Distance: 5 to 5-1/2 miles
Duration: 3 to 3-1/2 hours, depending on the length of the pauses
Elevation change: About 1,000 feet.
