We're excited to announce our first factory tour! It's taking place at a contract electronic manufacturer called AQS (http://aqs-inc.com/). We believe it will be great to tour, because AQS performs every step of the process between a digital design file and a physical board. It will be a great opportunity for folks developing electronics products to understand each of the manufacturing processes that will ultimately be used to make their products.
One puzzle that arises with doing factory tours around the Bay Area is figuring out a good way to get to the factory. As a first pass at solving this problem, we can use the comments area as a way to arrange car pools (see my post below for an example).
From AQS's web site:
"AQS offers a full spectrum of manufacturing solutions including: prototyping, new product introduction (NPI), PCB and electronic assembly, cable assembly, test engineering, system integration, and final testing, as well as post-manufacturing services.
We are proud to serve the needs of our OEM partners in a multitude of markets including networking/telecom, medical, consumer, instrumentation and wireless."
