    What we're about

We are the BAY AREA INDEPENDENCE RIDERS! We appreciate the independence of motorcycling and the camaraderie of others. We are a law-abiding group of riders who share the code of individual responsibility and accountability. We take pride in our machines and our ability to ride safely as a group. We enjoy the exchange of information and sharing of knowledge with each other. Our primary purpose is to organize Motorcycle rides to local and farther destinations for the members.

Our rides are on public roadways which routinely have speed limits up to 75 mph. All riders are expected to be capable of traveling at these highway speeds safely.

Proof of a current TXDL with an MC endorsement and the legally required minimum insurance is required. Riders are encouraged to maintain current inspection stickers. Wearing of DOT approved helmets is left to each riders personal choice. Some rides may include states which have mandetory helmet laws. It is the intention of BAIR riders to comply with all motorcycle traffic laws where ever we may travel.

Riders are encouraged to maintain membership in a road side assistance service capable of dealing with their machines in the event of mechanical failure.

The regular Sunday Meet and Ride is open to all. A ride to breakfast or lunch will be posted for every Sunday.

Saturday rides are posted as they are scheduled and may include destinations within 200 miles of the Houston metropolitan area. These are intended to be group rides which encourage the riding habits of longer overnight trips and may include travel of over 60 miles between stops. RSVPs and invitations are required for the Saturday rides.

Overnight trips will be posted as far in advance as is practical and will be open to members only.

We look forward to seeing you in the wind.
