If you want help fitting a garment, come to this meetup! Bring your mockup/muslin/toile and get help fitting the back, bodice, sleeves, pants, etc. Or bring a garment you made that you wish fit you better and get tips on how to adjust it so your next version fits better.

You can also bring a pattern you've cut out - or traced and cut - to see what adjustments can be made to the pattern to get a better fit before you even cut our your muslin. Worksheets will also be available so you can get your measurements taken. Members can pair up and get all their measurements taken at this meetup.

We'll have fitting assistance from two Bay Area Sewists members: Jennifer Serr, owner of The Sewing Room (http://www.thesewingroomalameda.com/), former pattern designer for Gap, and designer of her own indie pattern line Bonjour Teaspoon (http://www.bonjourteaspoon.com/); and Dana Taylor, who has years of fitting experience from making garments for her five daughters. She has tons of experience fitting different body types and bodices.

You are welcome to bring your sewing machine. Just let me (Chuleenan the organizer), know that you will bring your machine. Just send me a message via the meetup page. If you are willing to let another member use your machine for brief periods, please let me know.

The giveaway for this meetup will be Jennifer Serr's Bonjour Teaspoon Ava Lounge Jacket (http://www.bonjourteaspoon.com/listing/288969401/womens-jacket-sewing-pattern-womens-knit) AND her Emma Tote (http://www.bonjourteaspoon.com/listing/280841256/market-tote-digital-sewing-pattern-pdf) bag pattern! Jennifer picked out a fabric for this jacket so you'll be able to get sewing right away. Thank you Jennifer for donating these lovely patterns!

We get a 20 percent discount at Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics (http://www.stonemountainfabric.com/) on Berkeley meetup days. You are welcome to stop by the store before or after the meetup. Just tell them that you are a Bay Area Sewist member when you check out.
