Q&A with Beth of Sew DIY Patterns + Show & Tell!
Details
IMPORTANT NOTICE: It's daylight savings time on Sunday, Nov. 7. Please turn your clocks back one hour or you will be late for this meetup.
Join us for a conversation with Beth Wood, the designer behind Sew DIY Patterns as well as a sewing blogger and vlogger. Beth says her goal is "to make sewing an easier and more joyful experience for everyone." Learn about her sewing experiences, how her blog got started, and her PDF pattern line, which launched in 2015 with the Lou Box Top. Since then, Beth has added patterns for skirts, a jumpsuit, a tank top, and more. Three of her patterns - the Ali Sweatshirt, the Tasi Robe and Jacket and the Quilted Slippers - have gender-neutral views. https://www.sewdiy.com/
Her site also features sewalongs for her patterns, plenty of learn-to-sew posts, and e-courses. Plus you can find her sewing tips and tutorials for her patterns on her YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/sewdiy
As a tall sewist (she's 5'11"), Beth is very familiar with adjusting patterns for height. Her designs are drafted for a height of 5'10" and her patterns now go from size 0 to 32 (hip 32"/81 cm to 58"/147 cm). She's open to answering member questions at this meetup, so if you have a question for Beth, please put it in the comments or message Chuleenan, the organizer for Bay Area Sewists.
After the convo with Beth, we'll break into small groups so members can meet each other and share what you've been working on or have finished over the past few months!
